This sterling silver kayak paddle blade amulet was designed and created by Idaho silversmith/river guide JC Caccia.One side depicts what appears to be a long narrow boat moving through choppy water and was inspired byTlingit (Northwest Coastal Indian) pottery design.The other side is a replica of the intriguing image that was painted onto several Kwakiuti (Alakdan Coastal Eskimo) canoe paddles circa 1914. This image, recorded on film by Edward S. Curtis is believed to be an owl.
