Salmon Keyring

Salmon Keyring

This sterling silver Salmon Pendant measures 1 1/2" H x  1" W and comes with a 30" natural leather cord.

This sterling silver salmon pendant was made in appreciation of the long journeys made by the Chinook (Oncorhynchus tshawytscha) and Sockeye (Oncorhynchus nerks) Salmon. Shortly after hatching, juvenile Salmon (smolts) will swim 800 miles downstream to the Pacific Ocean and 2-5 years later return as adults to spawn along the base of the Sawtooth Mountains and headwaters of the Salmon River in central Idaho.

Both of these Salmon are currently listed as threatened and endangered species. A portion of the proceeds of this purchase will be donated to Idaho Rivers United, a Northwestern Rivers and Salmon recovery advocacy organization headquartered in Boise Idaho. This pendant was made by Idaho silversmith John Caccia, see more of his "river jewelry" at
